ATTEMPT FOR TOURISM
In Gerkutar of Nuwakot, “
Villagers attempt for tourism” is started in order to fulfill villagers
aim i.e. to publish their lives, Art, Culture and Customs in front of the
tourist visitors. While those tourists traveling in the Langtang area of
Rasuwa, such programs were inaugurated on the way of Gerkutar and nearby
villagers on Oct 4th.

stayed for heartily welcoming the German tourists who came for traveling
Langtang National Park as well as different tourist area of Rasuwa. These
village people felt like they succeeded to impress those tourists more
than they were happy. With the help of The Sun rising Social Club, the
newly inaugurated program of “ Villagers attempt for tourism” was
succeeded at its first try. Now they see the brightness of their present
work in coming future. The program director of “ Villagers attempt for
tourism” Ramhari Pandey said happily,” We got so much prosperity with
our first try than we have thought. He again said, “From that, we are
going to make the probable areas of Nuwakot as tourist areas.”

It seems like tourist guests were
impressed with the excited villagers who were standing in front of the
decorated welcome door with Nepalese five traditional musical instruments
called “ Panche Baja” and flowers in their hands and also with the
Nepalese food management. When the villagers were dancing in the Nepalese
folk songs, the tourist guests also started to dance even they couldn’t
understand the Nepalese folk songs. The tourists were also busy in taking
photographs of that moment.
Luckily, Om Mane Trekking P.Ltd.,
which has involved in trekking business succeeded in the program of
“Villagers attempt for tourism” by working together with the Sun
rising Social Club. Even though yearly 10 thousand foreign tourists are
traveling in Langtang area, some of them aren’t paying attention at
dozens of historical religion places and Culture of Nuwakot on the way. In
this situation, Chairman of Nuwakot industrial commercial group, Dhan
Narayan Chitrakar believes that such programs will play as important role
for the district tourism management. As to the organizer of “Villagers
attempt for tourism” program, till Nuwakot isn’t developed yet, for 1
or 2 days, 37% population of district occupied by Tamang culture,
historical places like Betrawati, Nuwakot, Devighat and essential
festivals like Sindurejatra, Dhamijatra are started for the tourist’s
attraction. The program director Ramhari Pandey said, Gerkutar resident,
those who used to feed the tourists with “Dhal bhat”, vegetable curry,
freshly picked up fruits from field, water in molded pot and used to let
them sit in a Nepalese way, always want their tradition to be forthcoming.
Kali river of Tupche, Suryagadhi of Bageswori, Palace area of Nuwakot as
well as slaughtering animals to Jalpadevi (goddess) of Devighat is
expanded as the possibility of tourist’s area. The German tourists who
have been eating meals with the help of spoon and folk got difficulties in
eating Dal bhat with their five fingers. But they were really very happy
to learn Nepalese style.
One of the tourists announced,
“We are very much attracted towards Nepalese culture and hospitality. We
will publish these in our country.” The organizers of this programmed
said that the agency of Om Mane trekking has planned to help “Villagers
attempt for tourism” by letting those tourists who came in Langtang as
well as to stay one night in Nuwakot. They also believe that the money
which is spent daily by the tourists i.e. approximately $10 may be the
income source for the village resident.
